All on 4 - Lower Arch

The timeline of the All on 4 procedure can vary from patient to patient. Many present the All on 4 treatment to be “Teeth in one day” and the reality of that is much different. There are ways to prepare so that the day the implants are placed, that a denture is attached, and thus the “teeth in one day” expression can hold true, however there are steps in preparation that are required to make that all possible.

We also would like to show the overall timeline that shows you when the final prosthetic is performed, and the steps involved in the entire process.

All on 4 Planning

A 3D tomography is taken, and a clinical diagnostic is performed to establish the feasibility of placing implants where needed. Decisions are made with you to decide what is the best course of action, and also if the All on 4 treatment option is suitable for you.

Tooth Removal - Temporary Denture

The teeth are removed surgically prior to implant placement. Depending on the strategy decided upon in the first step, a temporary denture is either prepared prior to the extractions, or after. If it is decided that there should be a healing period after the extractions before making the temporary denture, usually it's a 7-10 day period. There are cases where this could be shorter or longer, which is a detail that can be discussed during the diagnosis.

Implant Placement
All on 4 - Lower Arch

Depending on how the planning and strategy was determined, your implants may be place either right away, or there may be a healing period required prior to being able to place the implants. If you're situation dictates that a healing period is necessary, then a temporary denture will be made so that you have teeth while waiting for the bone to heal. The period of this healing could vary from 4-5 months.

The final prosthetic is a balanced weight prosthetic with a titanium or synthetic metal core designed for strength. The teeth are a high quality lifelike resin that together with the core structure provides you a balanced and light load over the implants.
